Kathy Kemp, Interim Choir Director
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from The Ohio State University. Upon graduation, she became a member of the first professional choir in Columbus, Cantari. The group performed with the Columbus Symphony and traveled to Japan to participate in the Asian Cantat there. She and Mark then moved to Toledo, where she taught in the general education classroom at Calvary Christian School and later became their Assistant Principal. She eventually earned her Master of Educational Leadership from Ashland University.
Kathy began her music ministry with First Presbyterian Church of Delaware, Ohio. There, she was the hand bell choir director following the donation of a new set of 5 octaves of bells. From there, she and Mark moved to Toledo, where she was the Music Director at Maumee United Methodist church. She directed the adult choir, teen choir, and the handbells, and oversaw the children’s choir and organists. Kathy later led Praise and Worship at Maumee Valley Grace Brethren church, along with her husband, Mark. While there, she and Mark were part of a Go Team that traveled to Siberia for a month, working with the children’s ministry. Upon returning to Delaware, Kathy was hired at Rural Chapel Methodist church in Galena to be their Music Director. While there, she led a praise and worship team, and organized an adult choir and small chamber orchestra.
Currently, Kathy is a fourth grade math teacher with the Delaware City Schools. She enjoys continuing her church music here at All Shepherds. When she and Mark first arrived, they both were part of the Praise Team at the 11:11 service. Kathy is now helping to direct the adult choir here, while Josh is away finishing his Master Degree program.
