The next monthly O.W.L.S. luncheon will be held at noon on September 18 at the Polaris Grill, located at 1835 Polaris Parkway. We had great success with an overflow crowd in August at Scramblers. If you plan on attending, please sign up at the desk in the gathering area. A final count will be needed by September 15. The Polaris Grill is located off the first road on the right and behind the Steak and Shake restaurant, just over the east side of the I-71 bridge. If you have any questions, please contact Bill Barker at email@example.com or 740-990-9017. Hope to see you there.
A leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings, Life Line Screenings will offer their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings at All Shepherds Lutheran Church on Friday, September 27, 2019. blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke;

a bone density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis.
Register for a Wellness Package which includes 4 vascular tests and osteoporosis screening from $149 ($139 with our member discount). All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Fall is just around the corner and so is the 14th Annual Round Cake & Pie Sale, which benefits the Ron Wean Memorial Seminarian Fund. This year’s sale will be on Sunday, September 29, before and after all of the services. If you want to contribute a cake or pie, please sign up on one of the sheets in the Gathering Place. If you are a Thrivent member, please indicate on the sign-up sheet.
Last year the congregation provided over 60 round cakes and pies, and we hope to exceed that number this year. We are asking for round single or multiple layer cakes, bundt cakes, cheesecakes, tube pan cakes, fruit pies, cream pies, chess pies, sweet potato pies, pumpkin pies, cookies and cupcakes. Please bring your donations to the church on Saturday, September 28 between 9 a.m. and noon, or on Sunday, September 29 before the 8:15 a.m. service.
The funds raised will benefit the ongoing Seminarian Fund, which was proposed by the late Ron Wean to encourage young men and women of All Shepherds to pursue the Lutheran ministry. We will provide some financial support to current Seminary students at Trinity Lutheran Seminary and provide scholarship money to students in our congregation who are going to Lutheran colleges.

Over the years, All Shepherds has supported various wall builds and house builds with Habitat for Humanity of Delaware & Union Counties. For those of us who are "construction challenged" or would like to find an additional way to serve, here’s an opportunity to support the work of Habitat for Humanity without putting on a toolbelt. Habitat provides the BIA Parade of Homes (taking place at Evans Farm in Lewis Center, July 13-28) with volunteers, and in return receives $20 per hour volunteered. With all shifts filled, Habitat can raise over $20,000 to help build safe, affordable homes in our community. Volunteers will receive free parking and admission into the Parade of Homes, as well as a Habitat t-shirt to wear during their shift. They will have the opportunity to tour the Parade before or after their shift. Volunteers are not required to be knowledgeable about Habitat for Humanity, and builders of the model homes will provide instructions upon arrival. Volunteers must be able to stand during their shift. Sign up with a friend or family member to make a fun day of it, and raise funds for a great cause!
