Over the years, All Shepherds has supported various wall builds and house builds with Habitat for Humanity of Delaware & Union Counties. For those of us who are "construction challenged" or would like to find an additional way to serve, here’s an opportunity to support the work of Habitat for Humanity without putting on a toolbelt. Habitat provides the BIA Parade of Homes (taking place at Evans Farm in Lewis Center, July 13-28) with volunteers, and in return receives $20 per hour volunteered. With all shifts filled, Habitat can raise over $20,000 to help build safe, affordable homes in our community. Volunteers will receive free parking and admission into the Parade of Homes, as well as a Habitat t-shirt to wear during their shift. They will have the opportunity to tour the Parade before or after their shift. Volunteers are not required to be knowledgeable about Habitat for Humanity, and builders of the model homes will provide instructions upon arrival. Volunteers must be able to stand during their shift. Sign up with a friend or family member to make a fun day of it, and raise funds for a great cause! The Junior Youth Group will again be participating in the Strand Theatre Free Summer Kids Show. Each year the Strand hosts free kid shows on Tuesdays during the summer in exchange for donations to local charities. Our Junior Youth Group will be helping to collect donations before the movies on July 30. Mrs. Lickfelt will be the adult chaperone at the 11:00 a.m. showing (please arrive at 10:15 to begin our shift) and Mrs. Brown will be the chaperone at the 2:30 p.m. showing (please arrive by 1:45 to begin our shift). Please be sure to bring your donation of baby items with you to your shift. Once we are done collecting we will watch the movie together! It's a great way to do service and have fun at the same time. We look forward to seeing our 2nd -5th grade Junior Youth Group members and their families!
Mark your calendar for the All Shepherds Rummage Sale, to be held Sept. 6 and 7 in the barn. Proceeds from the sale will benefit All Shepherds Camping Ministries. Have an item to donate? We will be collecting donations in late July/early August. More information coming soon!
